This is an older sketch of my wife character out of Wildwood holt, It turned out so nicely, once I found it in my files I just had to share it with you all.

Nice pose! Nice how she hides behind the trees and bushes, seemingly listening. That is one sexy outfit! Especially like the sleeves.

Love the bow and that she's hiding rather than out in the open. It also gives a sense that she's actually in the forest (a lot of times that detail is hard to pick up on). The sleeves...looks like she may have a similar problem to one I frequently have - they look like they may get caught in the bowstring when it retracts. If she tilts the bow upright before shooting, she might avoid it, but as they are now...Lovely face and a strong set jaw of determination. I think maybe some shading or a soft line might help between the jaw and neck to better show she has her head tilted upward. Again, nitpicking; I got the idea immediately when I saw this.

Her sleeve are somewhat based off of my renfair archers tunic and cover sleeves.  I use to do alot of archery both sport and larp and never had a problem so I didn't give it a second thought when I drew the sleeves.  There is shading in there, it's just that the scanners light reflects so much off the lead it washes it out.  I do have a darker version which the shadings show up a little better but I'm not sure how to do a reload withoutpushing this images back into the front again, but once I do I'll repost it.  Never had that problem before when I was using 6h & 6b series leads but they break constantly, so I went to the 4 series which holds up great but copies crappy.

Trust me, I know and empathize completely about the shading and its slaughter by scanner. As for archery, I have been doing so for many years as well. I remember someone telling me I had to bend my elbow out or get my forearm burned up by the bowstring, but I never did. My biggest problem was figuring out if I wanted to use the first or second position when I shot. My sleeve problem is knocking things over on tables and benches (at the lab I have to be extra careful), getting caught in doors or hooked on anything protruding...and they're not even all that full. My luck I guess. Anyway, her sleeves are hanging between the bowstring and bow, so if she shot like that (for whatever reason), those sleeves would be in the way.
