Hawk and Ruska during the Go-Back dance. She shows him how to use and read her handsigns and gave him the nickname "duck". This is a scene from Oakleaf Holt.

on top of seeming sketchy, they look good for simple animation. you have a knack for picking good scenes to illustrate x3

I keep returning to this image. The colors are really nice. The idea of elves using sign language is brilliant. We only saw one deaf character in canon, and she presumably communicated through sending. I like the grin plastered on Hawk's face, he really seems to enjoy learning it.

I´m glad you like it that much. Ruska isn´t deaf, she´s mute. She uses the handsigns since sending isn´t the strongest skill of Go-Backs. Many of her tribe (including herself) are even considerably bad at sending. The tribe found the handsigns useful not only to communicate with her but also as a way to communicate silently in general.
