Ok everyone, all the tribes have been spoken for, so lets chat about layout and possible character interactions and also a background. ;D

AceQuester - Wolfrider/Wing
Ollyagent - Glider/Lord Voll

Wildfire - Wolf/Warfrost

Schayde1 - Go-Backs/Vaya

I am game for whatever style you would prefer, are they to look like the spirits they are (like in the castle?) or should they be solid as they were?

I'm thinking since none of the preservers are dead that maybe it might have to take place in the palace and the preserver can maybe be seeing spirits? I suppose we can decide to make them as solid as we want though.

Oh so the go-back I choose would probably not be from a preserver's wrap but perhaps a watcher, I can do solid as you'd like, as for the scene, whatever is laid out I can work with.

Not an easy task to make a layout for this. My first idea was to give it a chronical layout. For example start with the High Ones palace in the background on the right and make Kaslen have some kind of contact with Voll who would be in front of Blue Mountain, etc...

I think I'd like to change my character to Blackfell. Unless another character needs to play with a dorky wolf, then it'd be Warfrost.
Composition-wise this one is hard! Do we want something dynamic or static? The Beloved Dead plate Wendy did was fairly static, but it might be fun to have something more akin to Windriders Calendar cover in 2007.

Please - - Where can I find an easy listing for the beloved dead Wavedancers ? With the Forum down I just do not know where to start. I am open to ANY character, Maggie, just stumped about "where" to go too choose.

Tah -Marien, I'd recommend Elfquest.com official who's who page. The forum is not active anymore, but all data is still there and search function is still working, too.
I'll cautiously raise my hand for also providing the background for the December page.. If someone else really wants to do it, I'll step down, if we find nobody else I'll do it.

But the page does not have images of Wavedancers - and only names of Recent ones. [I think] So I cannot even search in a 'different' window for a name I do Not have. (There is no search window or bar on these pages at all) GOLLY ! ~If I have to be signed IN - there is a problem - I cannot figure out most computer stuff and did not even try to resign IN when the site Rebooted into a different format in March 2015.~
So where are images of past Wavedancers - because Surge just does not do it for me - and he is all I have seen as Canon and now dead ?
So then - I googled " images of wendy pini wavedancers". These images were beautiful and varied of many things, but did not give me, just what I needed.
I. Am. Stumped. (meep!) Help.

That makes the most sense to me.
Though it may be weird to have a troll/wolf/human there, they might be coming in from the sides, checking things out?
I can think of 3 dead trolls; Guttlekraw, Greymung, and Grutch (Two-Edge's dad, you can see him in Blood of ten bugs). Does anyone know of any others?

Here you can also find the dead Wavedancers like Haze and Farbiger.

I was thinking, what if the preserver was using the Palace to envision something. Like when Suntop (yes I will always call him that) shows everyone Brill. Maybe it could be seeing the perfect tribe? One that consists of humans, elves, wolves...etc.

I like the idea of the Preserver watching a vision of the perfect tribe. If needed, I'd be willing to provide the background for that.

Ok super quick sketch just to get things rolling.
Preserver looking at the Scrolls with the characters interacting in pairs. IMO it would be neat to have the characters interacting, but that'd probably require a fair bit of communication between the artists so that might add an element of risk

Ah, thank you so much for sketching something out. I think they should totally interact, I think we can manage it. :D
What if they were all working together on something? Like starting a fire or building a shelter, something simple. Then they can all be interacting but still kind of independent and we can just assign what part of the task each character is focused on and which characters may be directly interacting with each other?

I like the use of the scrolls here. :)
I'm thinking of doing Greymung, I think he'd rather give out orders than actually do something, haha.
He might fit well in the back, pointing at something while talking..?

I hope we can still get this done. I really like Wildfire's idea. This week I will try to come with a fast sketch of a possible ideal home for all tribes that they could be working on.

Ok, I think we need to get the ball rolling here. We have a good base for our idea, so let's start drawing the characters.
I think we should work kind of one at a time, so who would like to go first? I'm hoping that those of us who work digitally can use a PNG format with a transparent background and then those of you who use traditional mediums just make a strong outline on your character and a white background so I can cut and paste.
Let's not worry about a background now, as we've decided this is kind of a vision type thing, I can figure out the background last.
So let's have someone draw their character first and the then next person can take a look at the first drawing and have their character interacting and so on.
It's just getting late, I want to send the submissions to Richard at the end of the month if possible and I am still missing two pieces, which will need to be reassigned and I have to work on December as well as the cover and formatting the calendar for the site. ;)

Sure, we can do that. Makes a lot of sense that way if anything needs to be adjusted then there's no starting from scratch.

Whoever wants their character to play with the wolf can grab it (or if you want your character to be doing their own thing on the other side of the picture I guess) just make sure to comment on the thread so we know what's happening and multiple people don't work on the same interaction.
When you're done/mostly done with the lineart post it in the thread so that the next person can continue!

I wanted to ask everyone who's submitting/has submitted a page about the cover. I was trying to think of some way to show the tribes without actually drawing characters, as I think that would be overkill considering each submission has at least 4 characters already.
I was thinking of symbols to represent each tribe might be cool but I'm kind of stuck on a few, like Trolls for example. I thought it would look interesting if the symbol was present in something the tribe is known for, like for the Wolfriders it could be a wolf or tree sewn onto a piece of leather and for the Sunfolk it could be a tapestry with the sun on it...etc.
I also wanted to ask if those if you who have a page in the calendar would want to represent your tribe with a symbol on the cover rather than me doing it? It was kind of cool getting to do the cover for a bunch of years but considering the subject of this years calendar I feel like it should be a team effort.

I think the trolls could be an anvil or a sledge hammer, and the go-Backs a profile of a stag. I'm excited to work on Vaya for December and look forward to where you want her in the scene. :)

@shayde1 - As Wildfire mentioned, in her post with her Warfrost picture, someone needs to go next. So if you're ready to get to work, why not have Vaya interacting with the wolf? ;D
We've established (if you took a peek at the previous posts) that we are having the deceased characters working together on a project, which will be a kind of dream a preserver is having, showing the perfect tribe.
So please feel free to have Vaya interacting with the wolf if you're ready.

I'm really hoping someone can help me out. My pc has broken down and for now i have a pc from my work. But i don't have paintshop etc. on it. I was already starting with coloring but maybe someone wants to help me and do the finishing touch?

I like the outline (in the middle)that seems to float and is looking at a smaller character. I will use that placement for a Wavedancer if I may ?

Uh, I can do that if needed but I believe that Tah-Marien intends for her character to be above the branch on the cave part of the background, so no water needed really. I mean, they're also deceased, so they can pretty much do anything we want in the scene. :P

Thank you all! Ok, let's leave the background as it is. You're right, of course. This is a vision of the ideal tribe and the deceased are free to do what they want anyway. ;)
I'll start working on Kaslen as soon as possible.
Hopefully the linework and basic colors won't take too long.

Kaslen looks so . . . regal. And I just adore that you used the leave themed trim on her outfit - wow.

Is it possible for you to colour her?
In order to add a photo to the thread you need to upload the photo to a site, like Photobucket then copy the direct link to your image. Go to the EQFA thread you want to add your image to, hit reply and type whatever you want and then click the “insert image†button and then place the URL you’ve been given for your uploaded image between the [img]place link here[img] and everything should work out.
